There are more than 3 secrets you must know before buying new construction. But this morning I sent out to my friends a blurb on three I felt were very important. In case you missed it, I am posting here, in hopes that if you are thinking of buying a new home anywhere in the Salt Lake Valley, you wont move forward without an agent. Your own agent. Not one that works for the builder.

If you’ve been dreaming of a brand-new home that no one’s ever lived in before, I completely understand. It will smell new. It will feel new. And everything will be clean and decorated to your specifications.

It certainly sounds like the ideal new home, doesn’t it? But, you shouldn’t rush into buying a newly- constructed home. We’re not saying you shouldn’t buy a new property, just that you shouldn’t hurry the process.

There are 3 secrets you need to know before you consider buying in that new-home community. You might just be surprised what you don’t know – starting from the moment you walk into the sales office.

For instance, it may seem simple enough to work with the real estate agent you meet there. After all, that agent knows the property best, right? And you already know what you want in a home. But, this isn’t always the agent you should work with. In fact, there is a very good reason NOT to work with this agent and it has to do with the protection of your interests, not the builder’s, during the purchase process.

Indeed, you might want to steer clear of this agent, no matter how charming and knowledgeable he or she is. If you don’t know why, then you’re not ready to buy a newly constructed home.
